Application for the Tokyo University Amgen Scholars Program 2023 for Undergraduates is now open for interested candidates from different countries who wishes to consider a career in biology or other sciences related fields and further continue their graduate studies.
The Tokyo University Amgen Scholars Program for Undergraduates program covers a eight weeks biomedical research in the basic and translational sciences which are being provided members of different faculties like Graduate school of Engineering, Graduate school of medicine, Graduate school of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Graduate School of Agricultural and Life Sciences, Graduate School of science, and the Institute of Industrial Science.
At the end of the summer experience, candidates will have acquired vast knowledge and skills for conducting research. Students are expected to their international friendship through collaborative experiences that will help them develop future collaborations in many conditions.
Every year, the Amgen Scholars Program gives hundreds of undergraduates around the world the opportunity to partake in scientific research projects at the world’s leading institutions.

Eligibility for Tokyo University Amgen Scholars Program:
Applicants must be an undergraduate student who are:
- Enrolled in any high institution (Colleges or Universities) worldwide that award a Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent.
- Have complete their first year of undergraduate study when the summer program begin.
- Not graduating before the summer program begins.
- After the summer programs, will resume studies for at least 1 or quarter semester.
- Applicants must have an excellent academic record
- Applicants must have good working knowledge of English.
- Applicants must have interest in pursuing a Ph.D.

All students are expected to arrange their private health and travel insurance, as Amgen foundation nor the University of Tokyo is able to provide health/travel insurance
Requirements:
- To dedicate effort in participation in the Amgen Scholars Program.
- Participants must ensure to attend the Amgen Scholars program throughout its duration.
- Applicants must live in the housing provided by Tokyo.
- Applicants must be ready to participate in the day-to-day life of the research group.
- Applicants must ensure to respect the work of all members of the laboratory, attend meetings and other gatherings.
- Applicants must ensure to attend the orientation that will take place on the first day of the program.
- Applicants will be required to give a presentation on his/her summer research project.
- Applicants must submit a research paper to the UTokyo Amgen Scholars Program Director at the end of the program.
